Pastor Greg Sanders began at PBC (Pocahontas Baptist Church) as the piano player in 2010, and became the pastor by vote of the congregation and appointment of the Kaskaskia Baptist Association in 2014. He resides in Greenville with his wife, Karen, and has four grown children on earth, and three in heaven. Until June of 2016, he was a a full-time professor of sociology for Greenville University (Greenville College at the time), and chaired the department of Sociology, Social Work & Criminal Justice. He loves people, enjoys studying God's Word and preaching God's truth, and is an avid musician who sings, plays the piano, guitar and trumpet, and several other instruments. His father, Dr. Everett Sanders, joins him in ministry on the piano, and his wife Karen and various family members are also frequent companions in ministry. Pastor Sanders started a business in 2016 called EZcard, the world's first Digital Media Card, and then the Max Community in 2020, to help business owners that are struggling to survive and need to expert and community support to develop an online component to their operations. He is also working on launching a new national podcast, Dr. Sanders Neighborhood.

Dr. Sanders' philosophy of ministry is to heed the call of God, to preach the love of God and salvation through Jesus Christ, and to equip the saints for ministry. Everybody has a talent, and everybody has a calling! He is currently interested in keeping the church strong and healthy during the new and troubling age of Covid.
